BASSAE: The Temple of Apollo at Bassae is one of the most isolated temples in Greece. Earthquakes and erosion so badly damaged the temple that it had to be enclosed in a tent to keep it from being literally blown over by the hilltop winds while restorers raced to patch it together before it collapsed entirely.
